Lovegren, L. A.,Factory Owner, Engineer — Cherry Grove — born in Seattle, Washington, on September 19, 1888, brother of the above. Went to school in Preston, Washington. He spent two years at Vashon College, one year in the office of his father’s business, Preston Mill Co., and one more year at Vashon College, after which he studied at Seattle (now Broadway) High School and graduated with good grades in 1906. Thereupon he studied to become a Civil Engineer at the University of Washington and graduated in June 1910. During the fall of 1909 he was also a chemistry teacher at Adelphia College. After his graduation from the university until February 1911, he held the position of Graduate Assistant at the university, while completing certain special studies. Since November 1910 he is Secretary at Lovegren Lumber Co. and Willamette Valley & Coast Railway Co. with an office in the 330-1 Railway Exchange Bldg., Portland. He is an active member of the Y.M.C.A. and during his time of studying at the university was a member of the board of directors of this organization. He has belonged to the glee club at the above-mentioned university and the choir at the Swedish Baptist Church in Seattle. He is now a member of the choir at the Swedish Baptist Church in Portland and also the cashier for the Youth Association of the Swedish Baptists in western Washington.
