Linde, Emil, businessman – Portland – born in Uppsala on March 28, 1876, where he remained until 1890, when he moved to Stockholm. He started out as a butcher shop assistant and eventually became the owner of such a shop, which he operated for five years. In 1908 Mr. Linde moved to America and, after staying for six weeks on the east coast, arrived in Portland, Oregon, on November 19, 1908. He has worked for the Union Meat Co. and Chas. Rudeen’s meat market. In November, 1910, he and a companion, Mr. Wibling, started an import business named The New Scandinavian Importing Co., located on 689 Gantenbein Ave.
