Anderson, J. M., bank clerk — Astoria — born in Svartebäck, Småland, February 9, 1875. At age 4 he accompanied his parents to America and was raised in St. Paul, Minn.
He got into banking at the age of 16 and was employed at a bank in St. Paul for 14 years. He has organized three banks in Minnesota for investors in Minneapolis and St. Paul. He moved to Astoria, Oregon, in 1907 and here organized the Scandinavian-American-bank, whose treasurer he has been ever since its founding. Anderson is a real estate owner both in Astoria and in Portland and also a member of Oddfellows, the Knights of Pythias and the American Methodist Church.
