Fahlen, N. A., tailor – Portland – born in the area around Lund, Skåne,
on October 2, 1882. He learned the tailor’s trade in Sweden, and continued
tailoring in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he moved in 1898. After spending two or
three years there, he spent one year in Germany, then returned to Copenhagen
again. He moved to America in the fall of 1901. His first couple of years he
spent mainly in the eastern part of the country, including Boston,
Massachusetts, and Columbus, Ohio, with longest stays in New York and Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. He moved to Portland, Oregon in 1905. In March of 1908 he opened his
own tailor shop together with Mr. Heimo at no. 124 12 St. Mr. Fahlen is a member
of Oddfellows and Linnea.
